A Mountain Home company that makes towing products is expanding its workforce and workspace.

In The Ditch designs and manufacturers products for the towing industry. President Chuck Ceccarelli said the company plans to build a 20,000-square-foot building across from its current location at 3195 Industrial Way to accommodate its sales and marketing department. Weather permitting, construction could begin in the next 60 to 90 days on the wood-and-tin structure, he said.

Maxey Tookey is the architect. C2 Construction is the general contractor. Ceccarelli said construction will cost around $1 million.

The company has around 40 employees with plans to add 20 more in the next two years, including welders and engineers. In The Ditch products are sold through 140 distributors, with 20 percent of the sales in Asia and another 20 percent in Europe. The remaining sales are in the U.S. In The Ditch reports an annual revenue of about $5 million.

“People are surprised a company like this is in Mountain Home, but it’s really home for us, and we wouldn’t be anywhere else,” Ceccarelli said.
