NPC elects new president

At the National Potato Council’s annual meeting, Randy Hardy, of Oakley, was elected to serve as the council’s president for 2014 and to lead the council’s executive committee.

Hardy is the owner of Hardy Farms in south-central Idaho. For the past 20 years, he has been involved in the activities of the United States Potato Board, serving as its chairman in 2006 and 2007. He was first appointed to the NPC board of directors in 2008 and most recently served on the executive committee as the vice president of trade affairs.

NPC’s executive committee and board of directors comprise U.S. potato growers nominated by their state organizations and elected by their peers. As president, Hardy will host the 2014 NPC Summer Meeting June 25-27, in Sun Valley.
