On Jan. 18 the Touchmark at Meadowlake Village donated the use of their facility to Alzheimer’s Idaho for the “Battle of the Badges” chili cook off. The Ada County Paramedics, Boise Fire Department, Meridian Fire Department, Eagle Fire Department, Ada County Sheriff’s Department, Eagle Police Department, Idaho State Police and the Civil Air Patrol competed against each other, raising $2300 for Alzheimer’s Idaho.

The Meridian Fire Department was declared the winner after a taste-off with the Civil Air Patrol. They were presented with a cook stove donated by D & B Supply, a plaque and chili-pepper-adorned leis by Eagle blogger, Joy Dewhirst.

More than 150 people paid $10 to vote for their favorite chili, bid in a live auction called by auctioneer, Frank White and enjoy performances by Boise Rock School, pianist Ryan Wight and The ReMarkables.
