IBR partners with CCIM to present Deal Makers awards

deal makers artMost of the Deal Makers honorees will be too young to remember or were too busy making their own transactions to have seen the Let’s Make a Deal TV game show. It started in the 1960s.

That’s OK, because they’ve carved a path of their own to become experts in commercial real estate. Idaho Business Review is teaming up with the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) organization to launch an awards program recognizing commercial real estate brokers for their dedication, sales and leasing production volume, service and creativity. Nominations are now open for the 2014 Deal Makers.

“I am so pleased to finally have a platform for the much deserved recognition of the many outstanding professionals in our greater Boise area commercial real estate market,” said Rhonda Garland, CCIM president and owner of Garland Group LLC. “This event also provides the opportunity to thank and recognize those participating in the many additional disciplines that are essential to the success of our industry. I look forward to the opportunity to celebrate one another with a fantastic inaugural event.”

Awards are for deals made between Jan. 1, 2013 and Dec. 31, 2013.

Categories are:

  • Based on total transaction consideration: the top three producers, the biggest deal and the smallest deal
  • Most Creative Commercial Deal
  • Commercial Real Estate Rising Star
  • Broker of the Year
  • Title Company of the Year
  • Commercial Lender of the Year

In addition to the 10 peer-nominated awards there is also a Lifetime Achievement Award whose recipient is determined by the Deal Makers selection committee.

“We are proud to be able to offer a program that recognizes top movers and shakers in the Idaho commercial real estate industry,” said Sean Evans, vice president and publisher for the Idaho Business Review.

April 18 is the nomination deadline for Most Creative Commercial Deal, Commercial Real Estate Rising Star and Broker of the Year; April 20 for all others.

An awards reception and event to recognize honorees is slated for June 3 at the Grove Hotel and their profiles will be published with the June 6 Idaho Business Review. Nomination forms are available on the IBR website:
