Walkers and supporters from Boise came together April 19 at Julia Davis Park for Walk MS 2014, presented by CBH Homes. The annual event benefits the National MS Society Southern Idaho Chapter by raising funds to help researchers find a cure and to support local programs and services for multiple sclerosis.
Two thousand people attended the walk and $114,000 in donations were collected. The fundraising deadline is May 31. Organizers are optimistic they will reach their $135,000 goal.
CBH Homes was the presenting sponsor, providing financial support and registration volunteers. ICON Credit Union also provided volunteers for the event. Financial sponsors included Norco, TEVA, Biogen Idec and Genzyme. Media sponsors were KBOI 2 News and KIZN 92.3, a Cumulus radio station. Caffe D’Arte donated coffee for the event and Chick Fil-A donated meals for participants that raised $1,000 or more, known as Elite Feet members. Other in-kind sponsors were, Albertson’s, Bandanna Running and Walking, Evergreen Chiropractic, Health Preservation Waters, Squeeze Marketing and Treasure Valley Roastere.
