New executive director for Ballet Idaho

Jenny Weaver croppedJennifer Weaver has been hired as the new executive director of Ballet Idaho.

Weaver earned her BA in Business Administration degree at Boise State University and spent several years working outside of the state.

“I am delighted to return home to Idaho after a multiyear absence, where I will join the team at Ballet Idaho,” she said.

Most recently, Weaver worked at the University of Colorado-Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colo., with the Department of Pediatrics Section of Nutrition. She previously worked in human resources, finance and outreach with the Linda Crnic Institute for Down Syndrome at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Jenny has recent experience in marketing and grant administration, including grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the National Institute of Health.

Weaver starts at the end of May. She succeeds Paul Kaine, who announced his retirement in January. She joins a new team of recent hires at Ballet Idaho, including Marketing Director Meredith Stead, and Development Manager KC Driscoll.

“I am delighted that Jenny is our new ED and very confident that she will bring a fresh perspective to the organization. I am excited to see the direction the ballet takes with this new team in place,” said board president Chris Privon in a prepared release. “Together leading this new generation of staff, Artistic Director Peter Anastos and Jenny will bring a new dance experience to Idaho.”

Ballet Idaho has enriched lives through classical ballet since 1972.  Community members can meet Weaver and Anastos to learn about Ballet Idaho’s mission and the upcoming season at Bonefish Grill in Boise on June 11 from 4:00-6:00pm.
