Mark Young to represent Eastern Idaho on Economic Advisory Council

Mark YoungGovernor C.L. “Butch” Otter has appointed Mark S. Young as the Region 6 representative on the Idaho Economic Advisory Council.

“[Mark] will be an important voice representing the needs of Eastern Idaho,” said Idaho Commerce Director Jeffery Sayer.

Young is a branch manager and registered principal with Raymond James Financial Services. He has 30 years of business experience in the securities industry, beginning as a registered representative for Piper Jaffray & Hopwood. He earned a BS in political science with an emphasis in economics from Idaho State University.

The council consists of seven members, with one member appointed by the governor from each of the state’s six economic development regions and one appointed at-large. The Council advises the governor and the Idaho Department of Commerce on furthering economic development within the state. In July 2014, the EAC gained statutory oversight authority for the new Idaho Tax Reimbursement Incentive.
