Boise Hawks name 2015 coaching staff

Team staff for the Boise Hawks this year will consist of Manager Frank Gonzales, Pitching Coach Brandon Emanuel, Hitting Coach Andy Gonzalez and Medical Trainer Mickey Clarizio.

The Boise Hawks entered into a partnership with the Colorado Rockies last fall. Gonzales enters his third season in the Rockies’ organization. For the last two seasons, he served as the Tri City Dust Devils pitching coach. From 2009 to 2012 he was the head baseball coach at Fort Collins High School.  Gonzales is a former professional baseball player who spent most of his eight-year career in the Detroit Tigers organization.  He played at Colorado State University.

Emanuel most recently spent six years as pitching coach in the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim organization. He spent nine seasons as a minor league player after playing for Northwestern State University of Louisiana.  Emanuel finished his minor league playing career at Triple-A in the Chicago Cub organization.

Gonzalez is moving into professional coaching after a professional playing career that spanned 13 seasons. He has played for the White Sox, Indians and Marlins. The former infielder last played in affiliated ball with Double-A Reading, PA in 2013.
