Greg Blaser recognized by Idaho Hay and Forage Association

The Idaho Hay and Forage Association presented the Don Hale Hall of Fame Award to Greg Blaser, retired professor at Ricks College at Brigham Young University Idaho in Rexburg, at its 2015 annual conference in Burley.

BYU-Idaho President Will Ricks acknowledged Blaser’s investment in the Idaho hay and forage industry over the years, including his role in preparing and hosting the Annual Small Grains and Forages Field Day for producers in southeastern Idaho and in starting the annual Forage Conference held at BYU Idaho each spring.

Blaser grew up involved in his family’s dairy operation in Rexburg. He attended Ricks College, now BYU-Idaho, and received his BS in International Agriculture, and his MS in agricultural systems technology from Utah State University. He received his Ph.D. in plant science from the University of Idaho. In 2005, BYU presented Blaser with the Distinguished Faculty Award.

The annual award recipient is selected by the IHFA board of directors. The award was established in 2011 in honor of Don Hale, founding member of the organization, who also served as president.
