Patrick Nauman is Idaho SBA’s Small Business Person of the Year

Patrick Nauman, co-owner of Weiser Classic Candy, is the U.S. Small Business Administration’s 2015 Idaho Small Business Person of the Year.  Nauman was nominated for the award by Sandy Anderson, executive director of Buy Idaho.

Nauman and Keith Bryant purchased Weiser Classic Candy in 2007. Since then, the store has grown by about 11 percent each year and doubled its staff from seven to 15, said Rod Grzadzieleski, district director of the SBA’s Boise office.The company now has more than 150 stores in the U.S. and Canada, the SBA said in a prepared statement.

The SBA helped Weiser Classic Candy with business development counseling at the Treasure Valley Community College Small Business Development Center in Ontario, Ore., said Grzadzieleski.

Nauman was due to be honored locally at a Weiser Chamber of Commerce event May 6. A panel is choosing a national winner from 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. The national winner will be recognized as the 2015 National Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration May 8 in Washington, D.C.
