Mark Panzer has been named senior vice president of pharmacy, health & wellness at the Albertsons headquarters in Boise.
Panzer’s appointment is effective immediately, and he’ll move to the Boise office in the coming weeks, said Brian Dowling, a spokeswoman for Safeway, in a prepared statement. Panzer will oversee the company’s 1,760 pharmacies in 34 states. Panzer replaces Darren Singer, who has left the company to pursue other opportunities, the statement said.
Albertson’s LLC and Safeway Inc. share the parent company AB Acquisition LLC, and are collectively called Albertsons.
Panzer had been president and CEO of Pharmaca Integrative Pharmacy, Inc. in Boulder, Colo. since 2008. His retail career began at Osco Drug stores more than 40 years ago.
