The Micron Foundation has awarded $100,000 to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County for the Meridian Club Expansion Project in downtown Meridian.
“Having a place for all kids to go afterschool is vital to a healthy community,” said Colleen Braga, Boys & Girls Clubs of Ada County executive director, in a news release. “Turning kids away was unacceptable and I am glad that starting this fall we will be able to serve more kids than ever before.”
The money from the Micron Foundation will pay for a portion of the project, which includes the new technology center, teen center, and gymnasium. This expansion will allow the Clubs to increase the number of children served.
“By integrating a technology center into their expansion plans, they are also building excitement in math and science for the next generation of innovators.” said Dee Mooney, Micron Foundation’s executive director.
