Mary Kay McFadden has been named the vice president of advancement for the University of Idaho, effective Aug. 30. She will be a member of the President’s Cabinet and lead the advancement division, which includes the office of alumni relations, annual giving, donor relations and corporate and foundation relations.
Most recently, McFadden worked as vice president of development, family and alumni relations at Olin College of Engineering in Needham, Mass. She began her career at UI in 1980 as the assistant director of the high school and college relations office. In 1984, she became the associate director of alumni. From 1989 to 2001, she worked at Washington State University in Pullman, finishing as their executive director of WSU West and vice president of the WSU Foundation. From 2001 to 2013, she was vice president for university advancement at Seattle University.
McFadden has BA in communications from the University of Idaho and an executive MBA from Seattle University. She was inducted into UI’s Alumni Hall of Fame in 2014.
