Beth Geagan is new leader at META

Beth Geagan croppedBeth Geagan has joined Jannus, Inc, as economic opportunity director. Geagan will lead META, or Microenterprise Training & Assistance; the Women’s Business Center; and NIÑO,  New Investments New Opportunities, a refugee child care business program.

Longtime director Ron Berning has left META.

Geagan is an entrepreneur and management consultant, said Karan Tucker, the executive director of Jannus.

Jannus was formed as the Mountain States Group in 1974, and changed its name earlier this year. It provides community-based health and human services, and began offering help with microenterprises in 2002 with a federal grant. Its mission is to assist immigrants, women, minorities, and other low- to moderate-income entrepreneurs with  access to capital and other resources needed for starting and expanding businesses.
