Blue Cross president and CEO, Zelda Geyer-Sylvia, to retire in 2016

Zelda Geyer-SylviaZelda Geyer-Sylvia, president and CEO of Blue Cross of Idaho, plans to retire next spring.

Geyer-Sylvia joined Blue Cross of Idaho in December 2006 as the executive vice president and chief operating officer. She was named president and CEO in 2012.

“I’ve been fortunate to work alongside some of the brightest, most innovative minds in health insurance at Blue Cross of Idaho,” said Geyer-Sylvia. “The leadership and passion for people here reassures me I can embark on my next adventure with confidence.”

The Blue Cross of Idaho Board of Directors will commence a search for a new CEO and president.

Blue Cross of Idaho has more than 900 employees at its Meridian headquarters, according to a company spokesman. It also has staff at district offices in Coeur d’Alene, Twin Falls, Pocatello and Idaho Falls.
