Company that acquired URS reduces Boise workforce

AECOM, the large Los Angeles-based construction company that acquired URS last year, said Sept. 21 it is reducing its workforce and moving its local office from Boise to Meridian.

“The firm will continue to offer high-quality engineering and project support services to its clients, continuing its ongoing commitment to the Treasure Valley region,” the company said in a prepared release. A spokesman for the publicly traded AECOM declined to give more details.

AECOM is a Fortune 500 firm that includes URS Corporation and Hunt Construction Group and had revenue of $19 billion during the 12 months ended June 30, the company’s release said.
