The Small Business Development Center, based at Boise State University, has added three staff members.
Laura Mathews joined the Idaho SBDC on September 3 as environmental assistance coordinator and project manager. In her environmental role, Mathews assists small businesses in complying with air quality regulations and is a resource for small business looking to reduce their environmental impact. As project manager, she works on projects designed to help improve the SBDC and increase resources available to clients.
Mathews most recently worked in the food and beverage industry, sports management and law in the Chicago area. She has a BA from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and is a LEED Green Associate.
Gary Moore joined the SBDC Aug. 1 as program management of the Procurement Technical Assistance Center. He has five years of experience running the PTAC program at the Idaho Department of Commerce, as well as more than 20 years in procurement with the U.S. Navy. Moore has a BA in management and organizational leadership from George Fox University.
Lee Velten joined the SBDC Aug. 1 as PTAC business consultant responsible for providing assistance to Idaho-based businesses in their efforts to find, win and successfully perform on federal, state, local government and large industry contracts. He was with the PTAC program at the Idaho Department of Commerce, and has a background in the food industry and 23 years service in the Army. Velten has a BA in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton.
