Four Idaho newspapers will be sold to Minneapolis company

The family-owned business that includes the Post Register and three other Idaho newspapers will be purchased by Minnesota-based Adams Publishing Group, Post Co. President Jerry Brady said.

Brady announced the sale in a letter to employees Oct. 6, the Post Register reported. The sale is expected to be final Nov. 1. The other publications involved in the transaction are the Shelley Pioneer, Challis Messenger and Jefferson Star.

Adams Publishing Group publishes community newspapers, digital products and magazines in several states.

The Post Co. has been a family business since 1925. Brady told employees in July that there was a buyer interested in the company.

Post Register Publisher Roger Plothow will remain in the same role after the sale. He said readers won’t see a significant difference in the newspaper under the new ownership.
