Verizon Wireless provided enhanced voice and data coverage for emergency crews battling the Tepee Springs, Soda and Cougar fires near Boise this September. The company deployed portable wireless technology known as a Repeater on A Trailer, or RAT, north of Boise, providing LTE service to the nearly 800 emergency personnel at the Tepee Springs Fire base camp.

The RAT elevates the coverage of Verizon’s existing cell sites around the fire by amplifying nearby network signals and enabling emergency responders and customers to make more calls and send more data transmissions.
