Valley Wide Energy, a division of Valley Wide Cooperative, coordinated a three-week effort, raising $2,089 for the Salmon Elks to purchase a new boiler. The company made a $1 donation for every gallon of propane sold from the dispenser at Valley Wide Energy from Sept. 14 to 30. The community of Salmon purchased 1,529 gallons during that time, raising $1,529 for the Elks.

To conclude, a community barbeque featuring $1 burgers was held. Valley Wide donated the hamburgers and buns, the Elks cooked, and Linger Distribution provided soft drinks. This Burgers for a Buck lunch raised $560. Nearly $50 was donated by Salmon resident and American Ninja Warrior contestant Lance Pekus, who charged $1 for his autograph.
