Southwest starts nonstop flights between Boise and Sacramento

Southwest Airlines started non-stop service between Boise and Sacramento Jan . 6 with one flight a day each day six days a week between the two state capital cities.

The Boise departure is at 8:25 a.m. Monday through Friday with a 9 a.m. arrival in Sacramento. The return flight departs Sacramento at 6:05 p.m. Monday through Friday and touches down at Boise Airport at 8:25 p.m.

Southwest also has one Sunday flight at 10:40 a.m. from Boise with a 6:05 p.m. return from Sacramento.

The Southwest flight adds competition to the Boise-Sacramento route, as Alaska Airlines has one flight a day each way seven days a week.

Southwest now has nonstop service between Boise and Sacramento, Denver, Las Vegas, Oakland, Phoenix, and Spokane with seasonal service to Chicago Midway.
