New spokeswoman for Idaho Breastfeeding Law Coalition

Christi van RavenhorstChristi van Ravenhorst, Mrs. Idaho America 2016, is the new spokeswoman for the Idaho Breastfeeding Law Coalition, an organization established in 2010 by Kori Penkert of Lewiston to gather support to pass a law in Idaho that protects a woman’s right to nurse anywhere she is allowed to be.

Van Ravenhorst spent a year as Miss Idaho in 2001, competed in the 2002 Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, and appeared on ABC’s The Bachelor in 2003. According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, Idaho is the only state in the nation that does not have a law on the books protecting a mother’s right to breastfeed her child in public.
