On Feb. 23, nearly 100 third grade students from Endeavor Elementary School in Nampa traveled to the Idaho State Capitol to walk with legislators. Twenty lawmakers walked a mile-long route around downtown Boise with the students. Fifty-seven lawmakers participated in the High Five Children’s Health Collaborative’s Steps for Schools challenge, which asked legislators to walk as much as possible during the month of February. The three who walk the most will earn a cash prize for a school in their district. Here, Senate Pro Tem Brent Hill, R-Rexburg, high fives a student from Endeavor Elementary.
