Two maintenance drivers for the Idaho Transportation Department will represent Idaho at a national competition in Estes Park, Colo., in the fall.

Trent Maupin, who works out of the Sugar City maintenance shed, was statewide ITD champion this year and last year. He’ll return to Col0radoSept. 28-30 for the Western Snow & Ice Conference & Roadeo. Joining him will be runner-up Camilo Serrano, of Dubois maintenance, making his first trip to nationals.

The statewide June 14 competition in Idaho Falls tested knowledge and skills.

ITD has been sending winners of its state roadeo competition to Colorado for most of the last two decades, and has had 20 top-ten finishes among the four events competed in each year.
