Bryant Jones has joined Boise State University in a dual role within the School of Public Service.
As director of external affairs, he will focus on developing cooperative relationships with business, public and government contacts and pave the way for future opportunities for the School of Public Service. His responsibilities will include managing external affairs with officials in local, state and federal government.
Jones’ work will create opportunities for students to contribute to Idaho’s urban and rural policy development, as well as contribute to public policy discussions with Idaho leaders nationally. His responsibilities will also include the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of prospective and major gift donors to Boise State and the School of Public Service.
Jones has held various staff positions with the White House Office of Management and Budget covering international affairs. He also served as a special advisor for research and evaluation for the Office of Policy, Planning and Resources for the Department of State’s Undersecretariat of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs in Washington, D.C.
A student of biology and comparative international politics, Jones graduated from the University of Vermont. He then traveled abroad to earn a certificate in teaching English as a foreign language from Peking University and to teach English to middle school students in China before earning a Master of Public Administration at The George Washington University.
