University of Idaho hires new Jazz Fest manager

Aaron Mayhugh has been hired as the new manager for the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival. He joins Artistic Advisor Vern Sielert and Educational Advisor Vanessa Sielert on the leadership team for this year’s festival.

Mayhugh, who has been with the University of Idaho since 2000, performed at the festival with the Jazz Choir in the mid-1990s and began managing the production of the multi-day event in 2010. He previously served as campus events manager, where he supported executive level event management and production for university events throughout the state.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, scheduled for Feb. 23 to 25 in Moscow.
