Wendy Perez, LCSW, ACADC, CCTP, SAP is the newest counselor at A New Beginning Wellness Center. She has experience treating addictions, co-occurring disorders, PTSD, crisis work, domestic violence, disaster mental health, trauma-informed care, play therapy and family-of-origin issues. Perez also has training in clinical trauma, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement and Desensitization & Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), alcohol and drug counseling, and a registered clinical supervisor and foster-care mentor.
Perez received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Boise State University and master’s degree in social work from Northwest Nazarene University in 2006. She is working toward her post graduate program in play and sand tray therapies.
Perez serves as the president of the Idaho Society of Clinical Social Workers and was recently the secretary on the Idaho Conference on Alcohol and Drug Dependency board and the secretary on the Treasure Valley Alcohol Drug Coalition.
