Ransom J. Bailey has been appointed magistrate judge in Ada County by the Magistrates Commission for the Fourth Judicial District Court of Idaho.
Bailey has been a trial attorney with the Ada County Public Defender’s Office since 2005, focusing on felony, domestic violence and child protection matters and termination proceedings. Previously, he has an associate attorney with Moor, Smith, Buxton and Turcke, LLC, where he practiced a wide variety of civil law, including finance, natural resources and environmental law.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Whitman College and earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Idaho College of Law. Bailey will begin his court assignment with the Ada County juvenile court on Jan. 8.
