Kim Burgess has been named editor of the Idaho Business Review, succeeding Anne Wallace Allen, who is moving on to a new position in Vermont.
Burgess joined the IBR in May as special sections editor, managing a dozen awards publications and unique magazines. A Utah native, Burgess has worked at newspapers around the West. She brings over a decade of media experience, including stints as a reporter, arts editor, city editor and marketing writer.
Recently, Burgess covered K-12 education for the Albuquerque Journal, New Mexico’s largest media company. In that position, she broke the story of a school board member who reportedly embezzled over $700,000 from a charter school for low-income children.
“I’m very happy that the IBR will be in such good hands,” Wallace Allen said. “Kim has been a great addition to the IBR team.”
Wallace Allen, who has led the IBR for the past eight years, is joining VTDigger, a nonprofit investigative media company in Montpelier, Vermont.
