Dr. Zhangxian “Dan” Deng and Dr. Lizandra Godwin have joined Boise State University’s Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering faculty.
Deng was most recently on the faculty of The Ohio State University. His primary research interests are at the intersection of smart materials and system dynamics. His research efforts also cover ultrasonic additive manufacturing and multiphysics modeling. Deng will be teaching the vibrations course this semester.
Godwin joins the Department of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering after two years as research faculty with Boise State’s Materials Science and Engineering Department. Her 10 years at Intel working with plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition in integrated circuitry will contribute to a broad research capacity in the department. She will be taking on a large part of the student advising assignments.
