There are some Idahoans who are so influential, whose business experience is so broad, or whose community contributions are so noteworthy, that everyone recognizes their names.
The Idaho Business Review considered people who met that qualification and came up with a list of 16 trailblazers, change-makers and innovators to receive our lifetime achievement honor, the Icon award.
Now in its fourth year, the program recognizes exceptional men and women from government, education, private enterprise and the nonprofit sector.
Nominations for Icon and other Idaho Business Review awards program are accepted year-round. A number of this year’s honorees were nominated by members of Idaho’s business community.
“The Icon Award represents the men and women who over their careers have blazed the trail for others in business while leaving a lasting impression on the communities they serve,” said Idaho Business Review Publisher Cindy Suffa, who led the nomination committee. “The 2021 honorees are exemplary of this and deserve to be recognized.”
The award is open to those aged 50 and over who have demonstrated a track record of leadership, professional accomplishments, community service and vision.
The 2021 Icons will be celebrated on May. 13 during a virtual event held online due to the COVID-19 outbreak. In addition, a special publication will feature their stories and career highlights.
