Western Aircraft, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, has announced its completion of the first phase of its $17M expansion with the opening of a new 53,000-square-foot hangar.

The hangar is part of the 93,000-square-foot addition on Western’s existing 18-acre leasehold in Boise. Construction is still underway for the adjoining facility that will provide 40,000 square feet of space for the company’s avionics and interiors shops and administration offices, the announcement stated. The second phase is expected to be complete by year-end.

“This beautiful facility was designed with our current customers and prospective customers in mind,” Austin Shontz, vice president and general manager for Western Aircraft, said in the announcement. “Our culture is based around a customer-centric approach and personalized service — something that our growing base of Gulfstream, Cessna Citation and Embraer customers have embraced, spurring our need to construct more space to serve.”

The Ash+River Townhomes in downtown Boise has joined six other winning projects for one of the nation’s top residential awards with its receipt of the Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing Award, given by the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Terwilliger Center for Housing.

The Capital City Development Corp. (CCDC) project was recognized for its successes in affordability, innovative financing, quality of design, proximity to employment centers and transportation hubs and involvement of public/private partnerships, according to a recent announcement.

“Winning this award is an endorsement of CCDC’s approach to collaboration and teamwork in real estate development,” John Brunelle, executive director of the agency, said in the announcement. “ULI sets the standard of excellence in development and land use nationally, so being among the winners is a significant honor. We’re grateful to all the partners involved in Ash+River and all CCDC housing efforts in downtown Boise.”

4 new tenants announced for Boise’s future Warehouse Food Hall

The next round of food and beverage tenants has been announced by Geronimo Hospitality Group for The Warehouse Food Hall in downtown Boise’s Bodo District. The new installments will include Caffe D’arte, Freshie’s Lobster Co., CAMP Cocktail Bar and Totally Toasted.

The newcomers will join veteran tenants Paddles Up Poke, Rush Bowls and the Loading Dock as part of the anticipated 2022 opening. The Warehouse is a 29,000-square-foot facility that states it aims to provide a rich and diverse mix of food and beverage options in the heart of Boise’s Eighth Street dining district.

Caffé D’arte has been a Bodo staple for the last decade with its location on the corner of Eighth and Broad streets. Freshie’s got its start serving Maine lobster rolls, sandwiches and salads at the farmer’s market in Park City, Utah, and will now be making its first appearance in Idaho.

Geronimo Hospitality Group will open two of its own concepts in The Warehouse — CAMP Cocktail Bar and Totally Toasted, which will offer grilled cheese and tomato soup, but with a creative tune-up of premium ingredients, high-quality protein options and locally baked bread.
