Since co-founding his first venture in 2009, savvy entrepreneur Dom Ramirez has had a solid history of creating companies in Boise. Most recently, he founded Beta Canon, a startup services company with the goal of bringing “meaningful results to founders and companies who invest their hard-earned dollars into their wildest dreams.” As a consultant, he has led product strategy and software development initiatives for hundreds of companies.

In October 2021, Beta Canon participated in the Hacking for Homebuilding competition, where teams were assigned to identify solutions to problems presented in the homebuilding industry. Beta Canon’s product, CrewNotes, took third place with a $3,000 cash prize, with its aim to make on-site communication easier with location-based voice notes.

In 2018, Ramirez also partnered with Blu Atwood to co-found Textual.com, a software-as-a-service startup that provides shop-by-text services and conversational commerce for brands from ecommerce stores to Fortune 500 companies.

In his long career of starting businesses, Ramirez previously co-founded a successful software development and design agency called VYNYL (formerly known as Pixel and Line). He helped the company grow into its enterprise services before exiting in 2017.

As a community-based project, Ramirez co-hosts a podcast called “The Really Really” with Matt Price, which provides a “nuanced look at the intersection of investment dollars and insanity.” They can be found on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

In addition, he volunteers in community programs including Boise Entrepreneur Week, Boise State’s Venture College and Trailhead.
