With over 25 years of experience founding and leading technology and media companies, entrepreneur Michael Boerner has recruited a world-class team of executives from companies like Apple, HP, Cradlepoint, Microsoft, Audi, Allergan and AbbVie to execute its business plan and build Engage Technologies Group Inc. into a global patient engagement powerhouse. Engage currently serves the aesthetics, ocular, dental and orthopedic segments of the health care industry. Members of this team have also innovated several short-form video-based enterprise technologies that enable data-driven personalization and mass engagement.
Engage solves the problem of filling critical knowledge gaps faced by patients and practices in the health care industry. Engage facilitates frictionless mobile delivery of timely knowledge from a trusted relationship (a doctor or provider) when patients want it most along their health journey without requiring an app, email, password or login.
For instance, patients awaiting surgery can view a series of short videos that will explain the process of their procedure and walk them through postoperative care. Medical practices can subscribe to Engage’s licensed content with a simple monthly fee. This service helps patient engagement, reduces patient anxiety and improves outcomes. It also saves staff members’ time, increases practice operating efficiency and boosts revenue.
In June 2021, Engage raised $15 million in Series A funding directly from health professionals, adding to the previous seed round of $5 million. “We can finally help physicians, surgeons and their clinical teams streamline and measure every step across the patient journey,” Boerner said. “Simple is finally possible.”
