Marlene Tromp is an innovative leader who is passionate about building strategic partnerships that advance educational opportunities for students from all walks of life.
When Tromp became the seventh president of Boise State University in the summer of 2019, she had a single focus: provide as many Idahoans as possible with the opportunity to attend college.
During her time at the university, she has started an endowment for the Presidential True Blue Scholarship, spearheaded the Community Impact Program and the Hometown Challenge, each of which provide educational opportunities for students around Idaho.
Tromp also supervised the acquiring of $58 million in research awards for the university. Before this position, she worked as the dean and provost of Arizona State University and as the campus provost and executive vice chancellor of the University of California Santa Cruz.
