With 25 years of experience in emergency medical services under his belt, Brian Hite is moving into a new role with Saltzer Health, an Intermountain Healthcare company, as the manager of a new patient transport program based at Saltzer Health’s Ten Mile Medical Campus in Meridian. A Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) and Certified Flight Registered Nurse (CFRN), Hite has worked numerous roles within health care in his almost three decades of experience. But moving into this role, where he will plan, build and manage a ground ambulance department within Saltzer Health, is Hite’s greatest accomplishment to date.
“This position is the culmination of my 25 years in emergency medical service, and I am humbled to be given the opportunity,” said Hite. “I am honored to lead an amazing team of clinicians as we grow this important service line within the Treasure Valley.”
The new service line will provide internal and external patient transportation by ambulance able to provide basic life support, advanced life support and critical care services.
“The goal is to bring the same high-quality care one would get from an air medical crew, but we will do it in a ground ambulance for a fraction of the cost,” said Hite. “It has been exciting to see the difference this advanced team system of ground transport has made for our patients. We ensure they get to the place where they can receive the best care for this situation, at an affordable cost.”
