Daniel Meltzer – Powerlist – Health Care

As an experienced health care administrator and board-certified emergency room doctor, Dr. Daniel Meltzer is dedicated to making Idaho healthier. In June of 2022, Regence BlueShield of Idaho named Meltzer as its executive medical director, where he has since led the organization’s statewide health care affordability, quality, service and access initiatives. In this role, he has been promoting community health in various areas — including diet and fitness and everyday practices — through recent media engagements such as Medical Moment and Your Health Matters.

Prior to his role with Regence BlueShield, Meltzer worked in clinical and administrative leadership, most recently serving as the chief medical officer and senior vice president of Matrix Medical Network in Arizona.

Outside of his day-to-day work, Meltzer is a notable speaker who regularly delivers professional lectures. He is also the co-author of many articles and book chapters, and serves as a coach who aims to step in and help people before deep or irreconcilable disease begins.
