In March of 2022, Janice Jordan stepped into her role as CEO at Marimn Health. Her career in the health care field spans more than three decades, where she held various roles, including as a nurse, physician’s assistant and chief clinical officer. Jordan is a Coeur d’Alene tribal member — the first tribal member to serve in this seat — and credits the tribe’s support to much of her success.

“Marimn Health and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe has always been very progressive,” she explained. “We were the first in the nation to combine our Indian Health Service (IHS) funds with a federal HRSA (Health Resources & Services Administration) grant that allowed us to provide medical care to natives and non-natives equally. We currently serve almost 8,000 patients within five counties in both Idaho and Washington, and we offer many services under one roof…It has been an honor to return to my reservation and give back to the community in service and appreciation for their support and generosity.”

Looking at the rest of her career, she is excited to continue doing her part to create a healthier society.

“I have seen so many changes in the industry during my career, but I say I am excited about the current trends that focus on patient health outcomes and well-being as opposed to a focus primarily on cost savings and increased revenue,” Jordan said. “Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) paved the way for exploration into creating a value-based care model that rewards organizations for tangible results in putting patients’ health and needs first. It is going in the right direction and looks promising.”
