Primary Health Medical Group opened the doors to their new clinic on Monday in Nampa, adding to much needed pediatric services in the area.

A new pediatric urgent care and pediatric family practice were officially opened this week after a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house were held over the weekend.

“Canyon County has some of the lowest rates of pediatricians per capita in the U.S., so we are excited to expand pediatric services here,” said Derek Hamblin, MD, and director of urgent care at Primary Health. “This new clinic is staffed by providers with a passion for delivering outstanding care in a pediatric setting, and we are confident that parents and patients will enjoy it as much as they have enjoyed our Meridian location.”

During the open house, children were able to bring their teddy bears for a “check-up” by pediatric staff.

Two physicians, Juliet Lener, MD, and Courtney Smith, PA-C, will be able to see patients by appointment through the family practice clinic. Pediatric urgent care is open daily for children 0-17 years old. Though the urgent care is open for walk-ins, parents can also reserve a visit online to avoid possible longer wait times.

Urgent care will treat ailments such as fever, cough, rashes, allergies, ear infections, sports injuries, cuts, broken bones and other health issues.

The clinics are located at 700 Caldwell Boulevard in Nampa.

Primary Health Medical Group is headquartered in Boise and has 23 clinics employing more than 120 care providers.
