Sanjay Mehrotra, president and chief executive officer of Boise-based Micron Technology, is scheduled to talk at the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce speaker series.
Mehrotra will be speaking about Micron’s expansion, the effects of artificial intelligence and why companies should invest in the future workforce.
The talk is the second of three in the series presented by the chamber and will take place from 12:30-2 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the Stueckle Sky Center at 1910 W. University Drive in Boise.
Mehrotra has been with Micron for six years, joining the company in 2017. Before his current role, he was the co-founder of SanDisk Corp, being in a role of leadership from 1988 until 2016 when it was sold. He was the Fortune 500 company’s president and CEO from 2011 to 2016.
He also has a 40-plus career in the semiconductor and memory industry, having been in engineering and leadership at companies such as Device Technology, SEEQ Technology and Intel Corp. According to a release from the Boise Metro Chamber, Mehrotra also holds more than 70 patents and is an inductee in the National Academy of Engineering.
In 2022, Boise State University awarded Mehrotra with an honorary doctorate degree.
