Idavation seeks public input on finalists

BOISE, ID – The Idaho Technology Council (ITC) has announced its finalists for the Idavation Awards presented by Scoggin Capital Investment, which celebrates individuals, technologies and companies that exemplify Idaho’s entrepreneurial spirit. The public is invited to vote for a finalist in each award category at Idavation.org until Oct. 13 and the winners will be announced at the ITC’s Hall of Fame and Idavation Awards Gala on Nov. 14. 

The Mt. Borah Visionary Leader Award, which is granted to a leader that has expanded the horizons of Idaho’s technology and entrepreneurial community, includes the following finalists:

  • Alice Hennessey, retired senior vice president at Boise Cascade and founder of the Idaho Community Foundation.
  • Tim May, President of Direct Communications and leader in advancing technology and educational opportunities in underserved communities.

The Peregrine Innovative Technology award, which showcases an innovative technology that has been launched successfully, includes the following finalists:

  • HempWool Thermal Insulation, manufactured by Hempitecture, is a plant-based insulation product for walls, floors and ceilings.
  • 6500 Ion SSD, engineered by Micron, offers affordable and scalable storage for data centers.
  • CB-18 Automated Guided Forklift, designed by Bastian Solutions, uses unique features to efficiently transport materials across manufacturing and distribution facilities.
  • EC-Leach, created by the Idaho National Lab, is a cost-effective, safe and carbon-free process for recycling lithium-ion batteries and recovering critical materials.

The Hells Canyon Award, which is granted to a company that has experienced a daunting journey to achieve success, includes the following finalists:

  • JawsTec is a manufacturing company that specializes in 3D printing, CNC machining and metal fabrication services.
  • Pitch Aeronautics produces a unique drone for installations, maintenance and up-close inspections.
  • Stukent provides industry-leading educational materials and business simulations that help educators engage their students.

The winners will be honored at the 2023 Hall of Fame and Idavation Awards Gala on Nov. 14 at the Boise Centre. Community members may purchase tables and tickets at www.idahotechcouncil.org or email [email protected] for more information.
