Gordon Jones began his career in education more than three decades ago as a teacher in Arizona. His work ended up taking him to Fortune 500 companies, Harvard and Boise State University and more, but for the last four years, he’s invested his time, passion and creativity to growing the College of Western Idaho (CWI). Under his leadership, the school has experienced notable success.

In the past 18 months, CWI developed and gained approval for the school’s first bachelor’s degree in business administration which will launch in the fall of 2025. The college, which serves more than 30,000 students, also embarked on four major building projects almost simultaneously. Furthermore, the school entered the public phase of a $138 million Powering the Treasure Valley campaign, which already has 89% of the funds raised.

He said, “I am passionate about advancing affordable higher education that improves employment and life opportunities, maximizing public education’s value for students and communities. As the Treasure Valley grows, these services are essential to sustaining growth in the workforce and economy.”
