Christian S. Martineau has served as partner at Taylor Law Offices for seven years, specializing in business transactions and litigation from the firm’s Boise location. His most significant recent accomplishment was serving as lead Idaho counsel for a nationally recognized, private equity-backed business consolidation, advising on transactions with total deal value exceeding $190 million.

That deal “set a new standard for regulatory compliance and operational sophistication in our market,” Martineau said. “This engagement demanded the highest standards of legal precision in structuring asset transfers, administrative and management frameworks and succession protocols.”

A fourth-generation Idahoan, he holds a law degree cum laude from University of San Diego School of Law and a bachelor’s degree cum laude from University of Idaho. His biggest challenge has been consistently delivering major-market firm caliber while operating within a boutique practice environment.

Martineau also serves as executive director of The Cody Brinkley Foundation, providing scholarships to student athletes in the McCall-Donnelly School District, and previously served on Zoo Boise’s board of directors.

Maureen Ryan Braley is a seasoned leader in the law, with proven expertise in governance, regulatory compliance, fundraising, strategic planning and more. A Gonzaga University graduate who holds both an undergraduate degree in history and English, along with a Juris Doctor, Braley practiced law for seven years. She served as an associate attorney for Holland & Hart as well as Meuleman Mollerup before moving into the role of deputy prosecutor for Ada County Prosecutor’s Office.

Braley then joined the team at Idaho State Bar as the director of admissions in 2011, where she served for nearly eight years. She was then promoted to associate director, a role she worked in for almost six years before accepting the position of executive director of Idaho State Bar and Idaho Law Foundation in 2024. There, she’s deeply committed to the missions of both the Bar and the Foundation, upholding high standards of professional conduct and enhancing public understanding of the law.

Outside of work, Braley enjoys volunteering and is a member of the board for Selway Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation.

Grant M. Patton co-founded Patton & Buller, PLLC, last year, celebrating the Boise-based firm’s first anniversary on Aug. 5, 2025. The firm specializes in real estate, business and corporate law, estate planning and probate and appellate litigation, serving small to medium-sized businesses across Idaho.

Patton was motivated to serve small business owners like his parents, who he witnessed facing the advantages, challenges and stresses of entrepreneurship throughout his life.

“While I am proud of the results that we have gotten for our clients, I am most proud of the feedback our clients have given us on their experience with our firm,” Patton said. “We have an exceptional team that works tirelessly to deliver a world-class client experience for all our clients.”

He holds a law degree from University of Idaho, an MBA from Boise State University and bachelor’s degree from University of Notre Dame.

His biggest challenge was navigating the typical hurdles of launching a new business, which provided firsthand knowledge of challenges faced by business clients.

Wendy J. Olson has served as partner at Stoel Rives for eight years, working from the firm’s Boise office. Her most significant recent accomplishment was successfully representing a client in a defamation lawsuit against an amateur blogger, resulting in a $1.17 million jury award.

“Facts matter, and our state civil justice system provided a forum for [my client] to vindicate his rights,” Olson said.

She holds a law degree from Stanford Law School and bachelor’s degree in news editorial journalism from Drake University. Her biggest challenge was overcoming initial failure early in her career when she lost her first 12 cases as a new prosecutor with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division.

Olson spent nearly 20 years with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, including serving as U.S. Attorney for Idaho under President Barack Obama. Her goals include focusing on the importance of due process and rule of law, emphasizing lawyers’ special responsibility for justice quality.

“Lawyers, as members of the legal profession, are ‘public citizen[s] having special responsibility for the quality of justice,’” she said.

With a finance degree and a Juris Doctor from the University of Idaho, Joe Meuleman has established himself as a leading lawyer in the Gem State focused on construction law, government contracts and litigation. The bulk of his practice at Meuleman Law includes representing general contractors, construction managers, design-builders, trade associations and more, dealing with construction-related disputes or transactions.

Meuleman has published a variety of commentary and articles in various law publications and business publications and speaks regularly across Idaho on a wide range of legal topics. He’s also active on the board of directors for Idaho AGC, is on the board of governors and steering committee for the contract document forum for AGC of America and sits on the industry advisory board at the Department of Construction Management at Boise State University.

His contributions to the legal field have been recognized, too. In 2023, he was named one of the Best Lawyers in America and in 2018 was honored with the Idaho AGC President’s Award.

Trevor S. Buller co-founded Patton & Buller, PLLC, one year ago, celebrating the Boise-based firm’s first anniversary on Aug. 5, 2025. He specializes in probate and appellate litigation within the firm’s practice areas of real estate, business and corporate law, estate planning and probate.

“I am most proud of what we have been able to build here at Patton & Buller,” Buller said. “Every day presents an opportunity for us to help someone work through a challenge they are facing in their life. Being a part of that has certainly been my most significant professional accomplishment this past year.”

He holds a law degree from University of Idaho and bachelor’s degree from Boise State University. His biggest challenge was overcoming discomfort as a younger professional launching a new law firm, describing himself as not particularly entrepreneurial.

“Needless to say it was not easy for me to take that ‘leap of faith’ necessary to open any new business,” he said.

His goals include continuing to develop a service-centric model focused on alleviating client stress during legal matters.

Sunrise Ayers has led Idaho Legal Aid Services for almost one year, taking over as executive director on Nov. 18, 2024. Her most significant recent accomplishment was navigating the organization through budget cuts and funding challenges during her transition into leadership, addressing a deficit budget and canceled federal grant while maintaining staff morale.

“My focus was on finding a way to reduce our costs while still keeping morale within the organization healthy,” Ayers said. “I worked very closely with my deputy director, Jenna Furman, to maintain a positive and appreciative work environment with low-cost and no-cost changes and improvements, while also implementing difficult decisions around staffing reductions and other cost cutting measures.”

She holds a bachelor’s degree in English from College of Idaho and law degree from Lewis & Clark Law School. Over nearly 19 years with the organization, Ayers has provided legal assistance to more than 9,700 Idahoans facing life-changing legal problems.

Her biggest challenge was learning to establish work boundaries to avoid burnout while serving clients in crisis situations.

Jed W. Manwaring has served of counsel at Elam & Burke for one year, bringing over four decades of legal experience to the Boise-based firm. His most significant recent accomplishments include obtaining a product liability defense jury verdict for Ford Motor Company in Canyon County District Court in November 2023 and securing a $1.8 million judgment for fraud and breach of contract in favor of J.R. Simplot Co. against hay brokers in September 2024.

“The benefit of civil litigation is to allow businesses and individuals to assert claims and defend themselves in disputes without the need of rancor, violence or other improper means,” Manwaring said.

He holds a law degree from University of Idaho College of Law and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a minor in physical education from Brigham Young University. Manwaring is admitted to practice in Idaho state and federal courts and the U.S. Circuit Court, Ninth Circuit.

His biggest challenge was overcoming self-doubt about his ability to practice law.

Norman M. Semanko has served as office managing shareholder at Parsons Behle & Latimer for two years after eight years as shareholder at the Boise-based firm.

“As the office managing shareholder, I have been successful in helping recruit some exciting new attorneys into our firm,” Semanko said.

He holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and bachelor’s degree from University of Idaho. Semanko specializes in water law, having been hired directly out of law school to work for John Rosholt, described as the preeminent water attorney in Twin Falls.

His biggest challenge was establishing himself as a leading water law attorney after returning to private practice following 17 years away from the field. “It was a challenge to establish myself as a go-to attorney in the world of water law, but things have worked out very well,” he said.

His work focuses on keeping water available for irrigated agriculture, hydropower, local communities and other important uses throughout Idaho. His goals include continuing to attract top legal talent while providing excellent client service.

Jaclyn T. Gans has served as shareholder at Elam & Burke for five years, specializing in legal work for insurance and construction industries from the firm’s Boise office. Recently, she successfully secured a favorable decision for a client.

“About a month after returning to work from maternity leave, I presented oral argument before the Idaho Supreme Court in a case with wide-reaching implications for the state’s ski industry,” Gans said. “Not only did the Court grant our petition and re-hear the case, but it went on to issue a substitute opinion in favor of our client, reversing its prior decision.”

She holds a law degree from University of Idaho and bachelor’s degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton. Gans is admitted to practice in Idaho state and federal courts and the Ninth Circuit.

Her biggest challenge has been maintaining professional momentum while navigating motherhood and increased firm leadership responsibilities. As part of the firm’s executive committee, she focuses on mentoring young attorneys and developing future firm leaders while managing strict work boundaries and efficiency demands.
