Stephanie McCall stepped into the third-generation family supply business 14 years ago when she saw it as a chance to come home ― literally and professionally. Though she was working in real estate before and the family business was a new industry for her, the company’s foundation was solid, and the heart of the team was strong.

“What we’ve grown into today is a modern operation built on legacy, loyalty and a lot of accountability,” she explained.

McCall shared that under her leadership in the last 18 months, the company has successfully implemented a new ERP system with wireless warehouse capabilities, allowing for faster order processing, real-time inventory tracking and a better overall customer experience.

Looking ahead, McCall is looking to expand the company’s teams in Boise and Twin Falls to meet demand and stay ahead of client needs. She is also staying on top of changes in technology so she can stay adaptable and ready to apply new tools where they make the most impact.

With a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering Management from Oregon State University, Dan Hayes founded HC Company nearly 23 years ago in Boise, and his experience in the industry spans longer than that.

In the time that he has led his company, it has been at the forefront of the construction of projects that span several different industries. From the tech field and offices to restaurants, theatres, warehouses and banking, Hayes has overseen a variety of building designs and needs.

Whether its specialty projects such as veterinary clinics or financial buildings, the company works to the specifications of each.

A list of notable clients are Christian Brothers Automotive, Bardenay, Boys & Girls Club, the Canyon County Expo Center and the offices of Eide Baily.

Hayes’ firm has won plenty of awards, including Greyloch in Star, which won and Idaho Business Review Top Project for Project of the Year in 2023.

When he’s not busy leading his company, Hayes spends time with his wife and two sons enjoying outdoor activities.

Kenneth Elumbaugh has spent 35 years in construction, with seven years as founder and owner of Pacific North Contractors in Caldwell. The third-generation company, started by his father Charles 45 years ago, specializes in commercial and retail construction, particularly fueling stations and convenience stores.

His most significant recent accomplishment was leading PNC to complete high-profile C-Store projects across Idaho and Montana, including a 2,872-square-foot LoanMax remodel delivered within 85 days and 5% under budget, achieving a 98% client satisfaction rate.

“This achievement strengthened our reputation for efficiency and reliability,” Elumbaugh said.

He has earned and holds OSHA 30-Hour Certification and construction management training. His biggest challenge was navigating post-pandemic supply chain disruptions through strong supplier relationships and proactive inventory management. “I ensured uninterrupted progress, keeping PNC competitive and trusted in the construction industry,” he said.

He also finds satisfaction in guiding the next generation of tradespeople.

“If I weren’t in construction, I’d likely pursue a role in mentorship or vocational training ― helping younger generations find meaningful careers in the trades,” he said.

Douglas Hardin has led Tamarack Grove Engineering for 14 years, recently expanding the Meridian-based structural engineering firm to include offices in Bozeman, Montana, and Lyndhurst, New Jersey. The company provides construction industry engineering services across multiple states.

“I assisted with the growth of the company to include two new out-of-state offices last fall,” Hardin said. “This was a large effort from many within the company, and I am proud to have been a part of it.”

A Boise State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Hardin holds professional engineering licenses in 24 states. He started with the company as an intern and advanced through various roles as the business grew.

His biggest challenge was taking on leadership responsibilities at a young age. “Wearing a lot of hats and maturing further in my career than my age may suggest” created skepticism from others, he said.

The company supports Idaho through donations and sponsorships to organizations including University of Idaho, Dress for Success and Camp Rainbow Gold.

Founded 27 years ago, Erstad Architects stands as a testament to the experience and vision of its founding partner, Andy Erstad.

A member of the American Institute of Architects, Erstad has a wealth of experience and vision that he has used to build on with not only clients in Idaho but across the United States and around the world. According to his firm, before founding Erstad Architects, he worked with Albanese/Brooks Associates in Tucson, Arizona, Venturi Scott Brown in Philadelphia, Bull Stockwell and Allen, Reid & Tarics in San Francisco and Hummel Architects in Boise.

Erstad recently took a co-lead role, handing the reins of the firm over to Katrina Kulm, AIA, who is now the managing partner.

“Our firm has always been about more than just great architecture ― it’s about the people we work with and the communities we serve,” Erstad said.

His education includes degrees from The College of Idaho and University of Arizona College of Architecture, and studies abroad in Italy and stateside in San Francisco.

Matt Blandford has led Andersen Construction’s Idaho operations for two years, overseeing commercial construction management across Idaho and the Pacific Northwest. His most significant recent accomplishment entailed two major workloads internally and externally.

“Andersen’s Idaho team successfully launched our concrete division while simultaneously completing our largest regional projects to date,” Blandford said. “We take great pride in doing everything as a team, which is one of our nine core values.”

A University of Idaho graduate with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, and master’s degree in structural engineering from West Virginia University, Blandford holds licenses as both a professional engineer and construction manager, plus LEED AP BD+C certification.

He grew up working for his father’s and a friend’s father’s construction companies in Alaska, spending his entire career in construction-related roles. His projects span health care, multifamily housing, education and agricultural life sciences sectors.

“Once construction grasps onto you, it’s hard to imagine doing anything else,” he said. “There is something invitingly calming about a late-night concrete pour.”

Bob Fleming has spent 28 years in commercial construction, with five years leading business development at Nampa-based RADIX Construction. His most significant recent accomplishment was joining Boise Impact Group’s board of directors, leading the education and mentorship of the Trades Groups. 

“Leading the education and mentorship of the Trades Groups, I guide business owners to address industry-specific challenges, resulting in measurable successes,” Fleming said. “Witnessing their ‘light bulb moments’ as they make pivotal decisions for their businesses brings me immense satisfaction.” 

Having attended University of Utah, with a business and marketing emphasis, Fleming holds multiple certifications including LEED Accredited Professional and various OSHA certificates. His career followed what he calls a “Boot-to-Suit journey,” starting in field trades before advancing through superintendent roles to business development. 

Fleming’s biggest challenge was earning respect in construction’s tough environment. “My dad taught me two very important skills: Don’t ask someone to do something that you won’t do yourself, and real leaders will pull the team, not push them,” he said. 

His goals for Radix over the coming year are focused on strategic growth and community impact within the industry. 

“I aim to expand our client roster by deepening our outreach and delivering exceptional value to attract new partners who share our vision for innovative commercial development, especially in the collaborative pre-construction space,” Fleming said. “RADIX has an incredible pre-construction system that is not like anything else I’ve had visibility to in the industry so it’s my goal to educate as many developers as possible how we add exceptional value to their development efforts early in the process.” 

Trevor Wright has led Wright Brothers for six years as a third-generation builder, continuing the Star-based company’s legacy since 1950. His most significant recent accomplishment has been collaborating with team members to guide the company’s evolution through improved leadership and operational practices.

“Collaborating with all individuals who embody Wright Brothers’ values to help guide the continued evolution of the company has been a major focus,” Wright said. “It’s been about elevating how we manage people, improve systems, and refine every aspect of how we operate.”

A Boise State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and Certified Construction Manager credentials, Wright started working summers in construction during high school. The company has completed projects in more than 50 Idaho cities.

Wright’s goals focus on steady, sustainable growth while prioritizing people and quality. His biggest challenge has been learning from setbacks to develop resilience and adaptability.

“As someone who grew up in Idaho, I understand the values and communities that make this state unique,” he said. “We’ve grown with Idaho.”

Joe Kane has spent nine years with Saint Alphonsus Health System, recently accepting a promotion to director of capital construction for Trinity Health’s Service Area 1, which covers California through Illinois. In this role, he assists with planning and design projects totaling more than $1 billion in construction costs, ranging from small remodels to replacement hospital campuses.

“I have been able to assist in the planning and design of projects that range in scope from small remodels, replacement hospital campuses, hospital expansions, Medical Office Buildings, Cancer Centers,” Kane said.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering technology and certifications as a Certified Healthcare Contractor and LEED Accredited Professional. Kane began his career at Cushing Terrell architecture firm in Boise, working on health care projects worldwide before transitioning to hospital roles in Montana and Idaho.

His biggest challenge involves balancing patient experience with regulatory requirements while designing spaces flexible enough for evolving medical advancements.

“I can’t imagine not being in construction of some sort,” he said. “I love the impact that a well-designed space can have on people.”

Judsen Williams has led KPFF’s Mountain West office since founding it in 2006, after joining the structural engineering firm in 1998. His specialties include health care, laboratory, justice, civic, higher education and mass timber projects across the Mountain West region.

Williams focuses on empowering team members to build their own businesses within the larger organization while working with collaborative design and construction teams. His approach involves engaging in all project aspects from start to finish, supporting client needs while proactively solving issues in advance.

“I’m passionate about empowering our Mountain West team members to build their own businesses within the business,” Williams said.

His project portfolio spans health care and education to civic, commercial and multifamily developments. Williams holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in structural and civil engineering from Washington State University and is affiliated with the Structural Engineers Association of Idaho.

His leadership has established KPFF’s presence across Idaho, Utah and Colorado markets over nearly two decades of Mountain West operations.

During his 26 years with TVR, Inc., in Meridian, David Tully has held a myriad of positions, starting with chief operating officer, then moving into the role of estimator, then senior project manager and finally CEO for the past three years.

TVR specializes in HVAC installations and has provided various systems to businesses such as the Terry Reilly Medical Clinic in Nampa, the Duck Valley Detention Center and various rooftop residential building installs.

Along with commercial and residential services, Tully’s company offers metal fabrication and building automation controls. His goal is to continue to expand the fabrication division and continue to grow the company for the employee owners.

As a company, he states, “we strive to give our customers the best possible comfort systems and service possible.”

Earlier this year, Tully became a member of the State of Idaho Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Board representing HVAC contractors.

He is also an avid golfer, having joined the Hole-In-One Club in 2024 at The Club at Spurwing on Hole 9 with a 156-yard drive.
