Samantha Martinet can be described as an energetic self-starter who isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves and work hard. This is evidenced in her time spent serving for 13 years in the United States Marine Corps and now as the executive director of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce.

She’s worked in her current role since 2021, where she’s led her team to strengthen, promote and lead the business and economic community of Moscow.

Martinet also has experience working for the University of Idaho as the associate director of corporate and foundation relations and as a marketing coordinator for Coldwell Banker Sea Coast Advantage.

Her proven success in community relations, leadership development and program management have been an asset to the Gem State and help contribute to the ongoing success of the Moscow Chamber of Commerce.

“My journey became my inspiration,” she said in a 2023 interview. “I am passionate about my family, my community and growing the ‘good.’”

Rick Miller has served as director of community development at Altura since 2009, after previously working for the company from 1996 to 2004. In his role, he develops and implements community public facility and economic development projects across Idaho.

Miller works with private and public agencies on planning, development, funding and implementation of municipal infrastructure projects. He also manages the company’s properties and real estate investments, bringing comprehensive oversight to Altura’s development portfolio.

His responsibilities span the full project lifecycle, from initial planning stages through final implementation of infrastructure projects that support community growth and economic development. Miller’s dual focus on public facilities and economic development positions him at the intersection of municipal planning and private sector investment.

A graduate of Brigham Young University-Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in business management and emphasis in construction management, Miller combines academic training with extensive practical experience in development projects.

Dr. Mindi Anderson’s career has been nothing short of remarkable, as she has led growing and dynamic teams in military, civilian and nonprofit roles. Five years ago, she launched Idaho’s first Veterans Chamber of Commerce and largest Veteran network navigation hub to better serve Idaho veterans and their families.

Anderson took advantage of her time in the U.S. Air Force, earning first an associate’s degree in allied health science/information systems and medical laboratory, then earning a bachelor’s in social psychology, a master’s in health care administration leadership and management, and finally earning a doctorate in health care administration.

“My primary goal is to leverage my diverse experiences to drive meaningful change,” Anderson said in her 2024 application for Idaho Business Review’s Women of the Year awards. “I aim to pay forward the mentorship and support I received from some of the greatest leaders in the Air Force and civilian sectors. Additionally, I am passionate about serving rural Idaho communities and underserved populations.”

Paige Wiscombe is the State Program Director of the Idaho Women’s Business Center (IWBC), a program of Business Impact NW in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration. A Boise State University graduate, Wiscombe brings more than 10 years of experience as an events and marketing professional and business development leader, passionately focused on fostering equity among women in business and promoting economic development across Idaho.

Wiscombe returned to lead the IWBC in September 2024, having previously served on the leadership team as statewide mentorship director and Idaho Connects events and marketing director for the Community Navigator Grant. Her background also includes roles at Idaho APEX Accelerator, Women Ignite International and her own travel consulting services.

Under Wiscombe’s leadership, the IWBC supports women-owned businesses by equipping entrepreneurs with connections, resources and training. She oversees programs across Idaho, including one-on-one coaching, workshops, financial projections assistance and market research support.

Laura Lantz has led the Idaho Society of CPAs for eight years, representing nearly 1,500 members statewide while advocating for licensing reform and student outreach. Despite facing personal challenges including a 2024 injury and the loss of her middle son in 2023, she has continued advancing the accounting profession across Idaho.

“I tell everyone I know, and many I don’t, that being the CEO for the Idaho Society of CPAs is a blessing,” Lantz said. “I found my perfect job ― they pay me to talk to people!”

A University of Montana graduate with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and radio-television, Lantz discovered association work mid-career after raising three sons. Her biggest challenge was learning accounting principles without formal training.

“When I started at the Idaho Society of CPAs, I had very little accounting knowledge,” she said. “Luckily for me, I am not embarrassed to ask questions ― and I asked a lot of them.”

Her priorities include making CPA licenses more accessible to Idaho accounting professionals.

Jana Knoll serves as executive director of BOMA Idaho (Building Owners and Managers Association of Idaho), leading one of the state’s most influential commercial real estate professional organizations. A goal-oriented business owner and association management specialist, Knoll has transformed BOMA Idaho from a regional Treasure Valley focus into a statewide organization serving commercial real estate professionals across the entire state.

Beginning her career as a journalist and public relations specialist, Knoll transitioned to the private sector where she consulted on marketing cultures, studied business development, and partnered with leading construction firms in the region. She served as a volunteer BOMA Idaho board member for three years before seizing the opportunity to become executive director as an independent contractor, launching her own business with BOMA Idaho as her foundational client.

Under Knoll’s leadership, BOMA Idaho has experienced significant growth and expanded influence. She orchestrates the annual Commercial Real Estate Symposium, now in its 28th year and recognized as Idaho’s premier commercial real estate event, celebrating BOMA Idaho’s 40th anniversary in 2025.

Karyn Stuart, director of leadership programs at Boise Metro Chamber, leads five impactful initiatives that develop business and civic leaders throughout the Treasure Valley. A San Diego State University graduate, Stuart oversees programs that include Leadership Boise, Leadership Boise Alumni Association, Leadership Boise Academy, Youth Ambassador program and Boise Young Professionals.

Under her direction, Leadership Boise, established in 1975, has become one of the longest-running Chamber-sponsored leadership programs in the U.S., graduating more than 1,800 leaders. Stuart manages record-breaking applications and has expanded class sizes to 58 participants for its comprehensive two-year curriculum.

As a recognized speaker and mentor, Stuart ensures high-quality programming, supports volunteer teams, and coordinates significant milestones, such as Leadership Boise’s 50th anniversary in 2025. She also manages the competitive selection process for these programs. Her leadership has made these initiatives essential to the Treasure Valley’s civic engagement, fostering lasting networks of educated and socially responsible community leaders.

Doug Covey has led the Idaho Small Business Development Center as state director since 2018, after joining as Region III director in 2015. His diverse business background includes 12 years as CEO of an education service provider, where he restructured the company while creating growth and reducing expenses, and 10 years in business management with the nation’s largest outdoor retailer.

Before joining Idaho SBDC, Covey served as an executive for a cloud-based company, directing strategic initiatives to improve customer experience. He has also consulted with existing and startup businesses throughout his career.

Covey’s community involvement includes co-founding the Kids at Hope Association and establishing a partnership to create the first Kids at Hope Academy for school-aged youth. He volunteers with EF Education First, providing life-changing education for global citizens.

Originally from Arizona, Covey migrated to cooler western climates before settling in Boise with his wife, three children and occasional exchange students.

Jeremy Miller came to BNI after working for eight years in the retail space and then selling insurance. He was looking for ways to promote his business and sell in his new profession, and when he was introduced to BNI, he never could have dreamed that one day he would be leading the organization.

Now, nearly three decades later as the owner of BNI Southern Idaho, Miller has invested his time, talents, and creativity in growing the business networking organization. Under his leadership, BNI has generated more than $25 million in revenue for members over the last several years and they have helped thousands of businesses and entrepreneurs find their footing within their specific industries.

BNI Southern Idaho now has 450 members throughout its 21 chapters in Boise, Caldwell, Eagle, Idaho Falls, Meridian, Nampa, Pocatello and Twin Falls, with plans to expand into Kuna and Rexburg.

“We know that as we continue to build better businesses, we are not only helping our members, but those members are out supporting the communities that support our businesses,” Miller said.

Stacey Katseanes Satterlee was appointed president and CEO of the Idaho Bankers Association, bringing more than 20 years of policy experience including 10 years in Washington, D.C. The Idaho native most recently served as executive director of the Idaho Grain Producers Association.

Her career includes serving as Idaho state director for government relations with the American Cancer Society’s Cancer Action Network and vice president of government affairs for the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives. This diverse background spans agriculture, health care advocacy and cooperative organizations.

Satterlee’s extensive experience in policy development and government relations positions her to lead the banking association through regulatory challenges and industry advocacy efforts. Her decade of experience in the nation’s capital provides valuable insight into federal policy development affecting Idaho’s financial institutions.

Satterlee moved to the banking role after successfully leading advocacy efforts for Idaho’s grain producers, demonstrating her ability to represent industry interests and navigate complex policy environments.

Brian Whitlock has led the Idaho Hospital Association since 2015, bringing more than 30 years of communications, government and public relations experience to advocate for community hospitals statewide. His extensive background includes serving as chief of staff and state budget director to Gov. Dirk Kempthorne, where he managed Idaho’s $4 billion budget affecting every resident through hundreds of programs and state agencies.

Before joining IHA, Whitlock served as director of state and regional governmental affairs for Idaho National Laboratory, advocating for nearly 4,000 scientists, researchers and engineers in eastern Idaho. He also held senior staff positions with senators Dirk Kempthorne and Jim McClure.

His deep connections in Idaho’s Statehouse and on Capitol Hill make him a trusted advisor to elected officials and lawmakers.

Whitlock creates health care policies at state and federal levels while working to evolve Idaho’s health care system toward quality and value. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1985 with a broadcast communications degree.
