Organization
Farmers Insurance
Title
District Manager

Michael Willits has served as district manager for Farmers Insurance for two years, leading operations in Boise while navigating significant challenges from increasing wildfire activity across the western United States. He points to balancing fiscal responsibility with client support as Idaho experienced over one million acres burned in 2024 as a recent accomplishment.

“The insurance landscape in the western United States has been significantly impacted by increasing wildfire activity ― Idaho included,” Willits said. “In response, our team at Farmers has worked diligently to minimize the effects of non-renewals and cancellations while safeguarding fiscal responsibility.”

A Boise State University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Willits also holds a leadership certificate from University of Notre Dame and certifications as a Certified Insurance Councilor and Certified Risk Manager. His biggest challenge has been managing the emotional aspects of sales, particularly losing opportunities to lower quotes.

His goals include maintaining client trust while focusing on retention and growth across the Treasure Valley. An avid traveler who has visited more than 85 countries, Willits would pursue adventure travel writing if not in insurance.
