Named as one Idaho’s wealthiest men in Idaho, Scott Simplot is the son of J.R. Simplot, the founder of agriculture company J.R. Simplot Company.

Simplot began serving on the board of the company in 1970 and then started as the company’s director of planning and information technology three years later. Over the years, he stepped into various leadership roles and eventually took the reins of the company, where he led it to incredible growth.

Today, the international agribusiness company touches many different aspects of agriculture and operates in more than 60 countries, employing more than 13,000 employees worldwide.

In addition to his work at J.R. Simplot Company, he sits on numerous other company boards. He’s a graduate of the University of Idaho, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business. He also holds a graduate degree in business administration from the University of Pennsylvania.
