Powerlist – Erin Anderson – Idaho Botanical Garden

With more than seven years of driving organizational impact, fostering innovation and advancing Idaho Botanical Garden’s mission, Erin Anderson has tapped into her passion of engaging with community stakeholders, other nonprofits and staff. Most recently, she worked to envision activities that created a new “Master Plan” that will serve as the organization’s roadmap to the future. As part of that plan, last year, Idaho Botanical Garden launched a five-year, $15 million capital campaign to raise funds for a new facility. Under her leadership, the organization has already reached nearly $5 million.

Anderson said that the Idaho Botanical Garden provides visitors with outdoor space that sparks joy. For her, it’s a privilege to be a part of.

“Living in a state like Idaho where our neighbors and friends are dedicated to conservation and the outdoors, it’s been important for me to help others see the value in our environment and land.

Access to nature connects people of all ages with Idaho’s plants and ecosystems and creates rich experiences that can inspire future generations of environmental advocates, conservationists and life-long learners.”

As for her career, Anderson shared that being in organizational leadership and building thriving cultures is something she will always see herself doing.

“Creating high functioning teams and a positive culture has been one of my favorite aspects of leading non-profit organizations,” she said. “I’m passionate about developing strategies that promote employee engagement, drive organizational and operational success and create a sense of belonging.”
