Jeanne McFall is an Idaho native and outdoor enthusiast who loves exploring ― and preserving ― the Gem state’s majestic scenery. After earning an undergraduate degree in environmental engineering at CalPoly San Luis Obispo, in California, she returned to Idaho to focus her career on natural resources and river design. She spent the first part of her work in consulting and academic research working for NOAA-Fisheries evaluating river restoration projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.
McFall went on to complete her master’s degree from the University of Idaho (Boise) in Ecohydraulics Engineering in 2005 and then began work for the State of Idaho to help create and lead the Fish Habitat Engineering program for Idaho Fish and Game.
Today, she serves as the founder of RIVHAB, an engineering and science consulting firm in Eagle. There, she brings her clients more than two decades of expertise in addressing fisheries needs and providing solutions in stream restoration design, aquatic habitat resilience, fish passage, fisheries structures, hatchery design and hydraulics.
When she’s not at work, McFall can be found staying active. She spent more than 10 years as a competitive cyclist and triathlete and competed at the national level. She regularly supports local nonprofits ― especially those that support women, STEM and natural resources ― and loves fishing, bow-hunting and enjoying time with her two sons.
