Many people fall into the mortgage business, and Kellie Allen is one of them. Born and raised in Idaho, she began work in the banking industry while attending college and was encouraged to get into the mortgage side of things. What began as a part-time job to get through school turned into a 32-year career.
“I’m so thankful for my career in mortgage lending and the opportunities it has given me to learn and grow,” she said.
Today, with more than 20 years in management and leadership, she serves as the vice president of production for Synergy One Lending. Part of her job includes recruiting, focusing on the growth of the company throughout Idaho and surrounding states.
The last few years in the mortgage industry has been incredibly challenging, as they have faced higher interest rates, rising home prices and a market where wages have not kept up. Because of this, Allen and her team have truly buckled down and stayed the course, finding innovative ways to get buyers into homes.
“The work we do with helping others obtain ownership of likely the largest asset they will ever buy is very rewarding,” she shared. “Homeownership creates more stable communities and gives people the opportunity to create generational wealth. There are not very many jobs where you can have that kind of impact in helping others.”
